This painting won Honorable Mention at the Missing Ink Art Show in Tuscaloosa in Jan. 2009.
The mind's imagination is full of songs. Every song is full of transitions. Transitions are a patchwork of themes, through which chords cleverly weave. Chords are a collection of notes that ring a powerful sound. Each note contributes to the natural progress of the never-ending song.

From a photograph I took in Paint Rock Valley, Alabama. I took it in the car without stopping which gave the barn an interesting, distorted look.

Inspired by an Abhidharma verse on the nature of consciousness. The verse is written along the border.

"When we realize that afflictions are none other than enlightenment,
we can ride the waves of birth and death in peace,
traveling in the boat of compassion on the ocean of delusion,
smiling the smile of non-fear."
